Carp lake rules

MID CORNWALL FISHERIES -THE BARNS - RULES 2009/2010

All rules listed below have been put in place for the welfare of the fish and the fishery.

It is essential that all members both existing and new members make themselves aware with the rules.

Failure to comply will result in a ban.

Please note there are some amendments this year.

1. The number of rods is limited to two rods per angler. We will allow the use of a third rod to be used in your margin (two rod lengths out).

2.All anglers must have two current rod licences to fish with three rods. These must be shown on renewal.

3.All anglers must fish in their own water zone. This means the water in front of your chosen swim and not three or four swims either side of you regardless of other anglers

4.No rods to be left unattended under no circumstances.

5.All hooks must be micro barbed as barbless hooks are causing mouth damage. We do not permit the use of Fox series 5 or long shank nailors.

6.Anglers are allowed to use safety leaders. These must be either Korda or TFG. We do not permit the use of lead core. All leaders will be checked to ensure they have been set up safely.

7.All safety leaders or tubing must be at least 2ft in length to stop any unnecessary damage or scale loss.

8.No fixed rigs to be used at any time.

9.All anglers must have a cradle style unhooking mat, a 42” landing net and a large carp friendly weigh sling. These must be dipped every time you fish at The Barns. You also must have a bottle of clinic/medicarp/bonjella. This must be laid out and ready for use before your rods go in the water.

10.A minimum of 12lb mainline to be used at all times. We do not permit the use of braid as mainline except on a marker rod.

11.We do not permit the use of tiger nuts, peanuts or animal feed at the fishery. You may use hemp and parti blend (not pigeon conditioner) as long as these have been prepared properly. Maize may only be used as hook bait.

12.No fires to be lit at the fishery at any time.

13.Dogs are not permitted at the fishery.

14.No visitors are allowed without prior permission.

15.Alcohol is permitted however anyone found to be intoxicated will be banned from the fishery

16.No drugs to be used by anyone at the fishery. Anyone found with illegal substances will be banned.

17.All carp must be weighed, photographed and logged in the log book. The log book can be found in the clubhouse. All pictures should be either begiven to KEVIN HARMER, uploaded via the form on the website, or emailed to mcfisheries@btinternet.com This helps us to keep an accurate record of the fish and how the fishery is progressing.

18.Baiting up and placing of rigs is not permitted from the rowing boat. The boat may be used to free snagged fish only.

19.A life jacket must be worn if using the boat.

20.Bait boats may be used at the fishery but must be kept in your own water zone.

21.All trolleys must be returned before fishing.

22.No refunds will be given under any circumstances.

Anyone found breaking the rules will be asked to leave the fishery immediately.

The Ballif has the power to enforce these rules.

It has been decided to dispand the committee and the data base, but all fish must still be put in the log book in the club house and all pics sent to us as above.

If anyone has any issues please contact Kevin only.
